Location l'Acacia is close to two interesting regional capitals, Macerata and Fermo, Macerata is a pleasant old university city. The Palazzo Ricci houses a very fine collection of Italian contemporary art (view by appointment) and the distinguished Summer Opera Season in the 19th century amphitheatre is second only to Verona's. Fermo is another handsome, interesting town deserving a visit, en route to the nearest resort at Porto San Giorgio (20km), a small sailing and fishing port, with a sandy beach, palms and pines, it is pleasantly Edwardian in style. The whole region is full of unexpected gems: Roman ruins, fine abbeys and Romanesque churches, enticing villages like San Ginesio, Servigliano, and Amandola. The mountains offer amazing excursions on foot or by mountain bike, sports such as canoeing on the lake, climbing, paragliding and in the winter, skiing. .
