The courses are run by husband and wife team David and Fiona Sheppard who have lived in Italy for 5 years. Fiona is an award-winning chef who ran a catering company as well as two Italian styled Delicatessans. David worked for a leading West End wine merchant and also ran wine appreciation courses in London.

Autumn courses: chestnuts and truffles

The autumn courses run from Monday to Sunday throughout October and November.
This is a chance to experience Autumn in the mountains, mushroom and truffle hunting, chestnut fiesta ,wine making and local sagras. There will be several trips organised to explore the countryside and this beautiful region absorbing the tastes, sights and smells of Autumn.
Wild boar stews, roast chesnuts, porcini mushroom ravioli are all on the menu along with many truffle dishes.

SPRING ITINERARY
CITTADELLA COOKERY COURSES


Courses start on a Sunday and run until Saturday.
The course is a 5 day course.

The proposed itinerary is:

SUNDAY

Arrive 4.00pm onwards at Cittadella and settle in.
Drinks at 6.00 for everyone to meet

An introduction to Marchigiani food with a 6 course Dinner.

MONDAY

A trip to neighboring hill-top towns of Monte Fortino and Amandola for morning caffe, gelati, pasti etc and a chance to explore..
Visit a market to buy ingredients and practice a little Italian, perhaps.
Return for Buffet Lunch followed by Free Time: relax by the pool, take a walk , surrender to a siesta.It’s up to you.
4.00- 6.30pm: First Cooking Lesson

8.00pm meet for Drinks and Salami Tasting followed by Dinner cooked by participants.

TUESDAY

9.00am. Pasta Cookery Demonstration in the Cittadella kitchens.
Antipasti Preparation Class.
Lunch of antipasti and pasta

Free Time until 5.00pm.
Trip into Sarnano via Monte San Martino to see world famous Renaissance works of art and a chance to practice a bit of Italian.
Dinner out at the best pizzeria in the area.

WEDNESDAY

A.m. Trip to the Adriatic coast .Visit a winery on slopes of Monte Conero for wine tasting. Drop into Tod’s and other fashionable outlet shops.
Lunch on the beach at a fish restaurant and afternoon on the beach.
Return via renowned pilgrimage site, Loretto.
Buffet Dinner at Cittadella.

THURSDAY

A.m. Trip to Ascoli Piceno to visit markets. Lunch in this beautiful Art City.
4.00pm Cookery Class at Cittadella
Dinner, cooked by participants.

FRIDAY

Visit to markets and winery for tutored tasting or chill out by the pool.
Light Lunch at Cittadella
4.00pm Cookery Class
8.00pm Finale Dinner
Prize Giving and Blind Wine-Tasting.

SATURDAY

Farewells after breakfast and departures for airport.
For those not willing to go home just yet, addition nights’ stay can be arranged here or at other hotels in this beautiful region.



We advise getting your own transport so that you are free to do as you please with your spare time, there is so much to see. We can happily accommodate those coming alone. The course is meant to be relaxed and fun and you are free to choose whatever you want to do during your stay., the itinerary is only a guide to what we will provide.
As well as learning some cookery skills, this is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the beauty, nature, history, culture as well as food and drink of this sublime area at this the most colorful and breath-taking time of the year. The itinerary is designed to be exciting and informative but it is up to you what you want to see and do. You may just want to make the most of this gorgeous place, sit by the pool, gaze at the view, read a book, take pictures, wander about amongst the most incredible scenery and treat your time here as a kind of rejuvenation.
